Austin Reinehr and Tom Foley, both former students of St Patrick's College Ballarat, have been selected in the 2026 Australian Rowing Team. The pair will compete in the World Rowing Cup series and the 2026 World Rowing Championships.
The selection places the former St Patrick's College students on the international stage. Their achievement draws attention to the school's rowing program and its record of producing athletes who advance to national level. The announcement aligns with other recent results from Ballarat colleges in basketball and netball competitions.
Lowanna College Sports Academy's U15s Boys Basketball Team placed seventh in Victoria during the Elite 8 Champions Cup round. At the same college, student Xavier Ladbrook earned selection in the 2025 U17 Marsh AFL National Futures Squad. Ballarat High School finished second overall with 22.5 points at the SSV Eureka Senior and Intermediate Basketball competition.
Sebastopol leads the Ballarat Football Netball League senior netball ladder on 40 points after 12 games, ahead of Darley and Ballarat on 36 points each. Ballarat SC sits top of the FV Greater Ballarat League 1 soccer standings with 24 points from nine matches, followed by Forest Rangers on 20 points.
